Intelerad to showcase IntelePACS and InteleViewer 3-5-1 with new functionality and workflow performance boosters at RSNA.

InteleViewer, the dual-mode viewing application included with IntelePACS, continues to offer its rapid performance and intuitive interface for users. Exciting new features for InteleViewer are freehand and volume ROI measurements, orthogonal measurement, Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), thumbnail tabs for easy access to comparison studies, ability to save a study using DICOM Presentation State, and real-time cine support for cardiac applications. To bolster its fast performance across WAN, InteleViewer's software team has added speed enhancements to its streaming capabilities in order to manage the ever-increasing size of imaging studies.

New for IntelePACS is its Report Generation and Distribution module. For teleradiology practices that do not use RIS, IntelePACS now handles the entire radiologist and transcriptionist workflow from A-Z, including reporting worklist, digital dictation, integration with voice recognition, report generation with templates, report sign-off, distribution of reports using HL7 messages, postscript printing, fax sending, and email alerts.

An important workflow booster for IntelePACS is its new Roaming User Profiles module, included with every IntelePACS installation. Roaming User Profiles allows an organization to offer its users multiple ‘user profiles’ tailored to their different working situations that will roam with them across different sites within the organization or even between different IntelePACS installations. Users will be able to create customized profiles for use at the hospital, the clinic, and at home that fit their preferences and requirements, including number of monitors, display preferences, and layout protocols.

Further solidifying its role as the PACS for large multi-site installations with complex workflows, IntelePACS 3-5-1 features an optimized RIS gateway functionality. Using a redundant RIS strategy that functions across wide area networks, IntelePACS RIS gateways use automatic failover mechanisms to take fault tolerance and load balancing to the next level.

Last but not least, in continued support for IHE and to improve clinical workflow, IntelePACS now handles DICOM Structured Reports so that ultrasound tech notes and other clinical applications data such as vascular, colonoscopy, nuclear medicine and cardiology data can be displayed within InteleViewer.
