MedQuist to demonstrate SpeechQ integration at RSNA 2008.

Medical Conferences News - RSNA 2008

At RSNA 2008, MedQuist will be demonstrating the integration of SpeechQ for Radiology with technologies from leading vendors.

MedQuist Inc. is a leading provider of medical transcription software technology and services, and offers comprehensive software solutions including digital voice capture, speech recognition, electronic signature, medical coding systems and services, and mobile dictation devices.

In the partner pavilion area of their RSNA 2008 booth (Booth No. 7113), MedQuist will be demonstrating the integration of SpeechQ for Radiology with technologies from leading vendors like Inland Imaging LLC,  StructuRad LLC,  Primordial Inc. and Clario Medical Imaging Inc.

MedQuist’s SpeechQ for Radiology is a top-ranked interactive front-end speech recognition application that allows Radiologists to dictate, review, self-edit and immediately authenticate (e-sign) their reports or send them to a medical editor for review. SpeechQ for Radiology advances itself with time, as it constantly “learns” from edits made by either the radiologist or an editor. It ignores non-speech sounds, inserts proper punctuation, and automatically pre-populates the report with information received from the RIS, speeding up report creation.

RadWorkFlow from Inland Imaging offers an efficient, simplified, and consolidated view into multi-site, multi-system reading environments. At RSNA 2008, MedQuist Inc. is introducing a powerful integration between SpeechQ for Radiology and RadWorkFlow. When used together, the radiologists’ report turnaround time is significantly reduced as the speech recognized report is immediately reviewed and signed by the radiologist, and then routed through RadWorkFlow back to the requesting organization and physician. Kathleen Wilson, COO at Inland Imaging, states, “RadWorkFlow used in conjunction with SpeechQ has allowed us to cut report turnaround times to hospital fast-track ED patients by 75 percent.” The integration between SpeechQ and RadWorkFlow saves multiple manual steps in the radiology study process, and dramatically shortens the time to report delivery ― increasing productivity and minimizing radiologist frustration.

MedQuist Inc. and Primordial Inc., a leading provider of communication, workflow and analytics applications for radiology, announced a cooperative agreement to integrate four Primordial modules with MedQuist's top-ranked interactive front-end speech recognition solution, SpeechQ for Radiology™:
Primordial Flow is an integrated and contextual communication and collaboration application for radiologists using SpeechQ. The application includes communication and management of critical results in a JCAHO-compliant manner.
Primordial Metrix is a real-time digital dashboard of key performance and efficiency indicators as well as powerful ad hoc reports generated from SpeechQ data. This will be facilitated through HL7 messages monitored by Primordial.
Primordial Problem Detect proactively detects key radiology workflow problems such as stuck exams, late reports, missing reports, images that arrive after an exam has been dictated, and more.
Primordial Search, a "Google™-like" unstructured, browser-based search application that finds patients, orders, and diagnostic reports. Even with complex queries, results are returned in under a second.

MedQuist Inc.and Clario Medical Imaging Inc. have agreed to integrate Clario’s zVision™ software with MedQuist’s SpeechQ for Radiology™ speech recognition solution. This integration provides a single access point to manage workflow and dictate using SpeechQ for Radiology. zVision aggregates information from SpeechQ, as well as existing HIS and RIS, and builds a database precisely customized for the radiology practice. In addition, zVision provides intelligent tools for real-time monitoring of a practice, advanced searches, results communication, and quality assurance. “If a physician is dictating, they should be able to easily access prior patient information. Alternatively, they should be able to launch a new dictation while in a Clinical Imaging Processing (CIP) application. We are pleased to be able to offer these options to SpeechQ customers with the integration of zVision," states Chris Spring, MedQuist director of speech recognition solutions.

StructuRad’s radiology reporting content ‘macros’ in SpeechQ will provide MedQuist with a new add-on capability for macro reporting within SpeechQ.
