DISC to Launch DR Tool at RSNA 2010

Medical Conferences News - RSNA 2010

Canadian biomedical device company DISC said Friday it would launch a new meter to help track calibration drift for digital X-ray systems in Chicago at RSNA-2010 .

The DR Radchex tool, which fits into either a Bucky or tabletop, allows imaging phantoms to be used to create images while also simultaneously gauging radiation dose, the company said.

"In principle, this meter is very unique whereas it allows the user to place their imaging phantoms on top of the meter, expose it and obtain an unaltered image while providing the table top dose that produced the image," Patrick R. Pyers, president of the St. Malo, Manitoba-based company, said in an e-mail message.

DISC also manufactures the QA Mamchex, QA Radchex and DR Radchex meters. The new tool will be shown later this month at the RSNA . Visitors can find the company at booth 1909 in the Lakeside Hall at McCormick Place.
