| Medical Conferences News - RSNA 2010 |

Segasist Technologies announces the release of a new version of its prostate MRI software and the launch of a new product, Segasist Toolkit, to take place at RSNA-2010 .
Segasist PMR-R is a software tool developed for thepurpose of processing Magnetic Resonance Images ( MRI ) of the prostate. Version 1.0, released on May 17, 2010, was created to assist researchers presently developing a role for MRI in the diagnosis, tracking and treatment of prostate cancer. Version 2.0, to be released at RSNA-2010 in Chicago, follows an extensive internal validation, and contains a variety of improvements to the previous version. In addition to improved and new functionalities, Segasist PMR-R 2.0 will offer researchers the option to export extracted contours under the DICOM-RT format to make the results accessible to other programs.
“The latest version of the PMR software” comments Hamid Tizhoosh, CEO of Segasist Technologies, “will enable researchers to efficiently delineate the prostate gland in MR images and save the results in DICOM or DICOM-RT format. The performance, functionality and interface have all been considerably improved thanks to the feedback we have received from the many researchers who have been using the software.”
In addition, Segasist Technologies will release a new product at RSNA-2010 . The Segasist Toolkit 1.0 is the segmentation engine that represents the core technology behind the Segasist software.
“During the past several months” reports Tizhoosh, “we received a great number of responses from many researchers looking to use our contouring software and auto-contouring engine for other cases and modalities, not just for prostate MRI. We are now delighted to announce that the Segasist Toolkit will be launched at RSNA-2010 .”
Segasist Toolkit is a collection of libraries providing auto-contouring and editing functionalities allowing it to segment many lesions and organs in any modality. It can be integrated within any existing software to add segmentation capabilities. Several utilities are included to make the integration and usage of the software easy. The toolkit comes with a user manual that has clear, easy to follow, step-by-step instructions.
“At RSNA-2010 , we look forward to establishing new relationships with clinical researchers” concludes Tizhoosh, “Segasist Technologies will be making its software products available to selected researchers for evaluation purposes. As the software is presently undergoing clinical validation, ongoing collaboration with clinical experts is pivotal for us to make sure we can respond to the most urgent contouring needs in the future.”
