Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX Data Center and IMPAX RIS/PACS/Reporting solutions to be made available to Premier members.

Departmental workflow and enterprise imaging information solutions are being added to the range of cost-effective systems Premier offers to help members enhance the quality and efficiency of care. - Premier members will benefit from Agfa HealthCare’s innovative imaging clinical information system (ICIS), which provides a comprehensive, patient-centric view of the electronic health record ( EHR ) to facilitate informed diagnosis. - Agfa HealthCare is a long-standing contracted supplier for Premier’s 2,500+ member hospitals.

Agfa HealthCare announces today that it has been awarded a new, three-year, multi-source contract by Premier Purchasing Partners, L.P., the group purchasing division of the Premier Healthcare Alliance. Within the agreement, it will provide enterprise image management solutions (EIMS) and services to the alliance's 2,500 member hospitals and 75,000 other alternate healthcare sites in the United States.

Advancing collaborative knowledge sharing and informed diagnosis
Agfa HealthCare's EIMS advances collaborative knowledge sharing and facilitates informed diagnosis through its IMPAX Data Center, which provides a single, vendor-neutral integration point to the electronic health record (EHR). An imaging clinical information system (ICIS)-level solution, IMPAX Data Center consolidates, manages and provides access to the diverse volume of patient imaging information being gathered today along the continuum of care.

IMPAX radiology information system (RIS), picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and reporting solutions, which cover radiology, cardiology, mammography and orthopaedic departments, will also be available to Premier members under this contract. Agfa HealthCare's departmental workflow solutions focus on usability, productivity and business intelligence in facilities ranging from single sites to complex, multi-system networks.

Solutions for enterprise-wide integration and connectivity

Agfa HealthCare was the only incumbent supplier awarded this new EIMS contract, following a comprehensive product and contract evaluation process based on the decisions of Premier's IT services committee, which includes key Premier member representatives. Effective as of January 1, 2012, this contract is the latest in Agfa HealthCare's long-standing relationship with Premier and its member facilities, spanning back to 1995. Agfa HealthCare also has conventional film, dry media and printer, and computed radiography (CR) contracts with Premier.
