Frost & Sullivan Awards JNCI's Customer-focused Strategy

Radiology News - Radiology

Frost and Sullivan West African Medical Device Customer Service Leadership Award is presented to JNC International Limited (JNCI) in recognition of its outstanding customer-focused strategy.

It is through such a highly effective business strategy that JNCI, in only four years of its existence, has risen to leadership status within the Nigerian medical imaging market.

According to the results of a Frost & Sullivan end-user survey carried out in December 2008 for the research service Strategic Analysis of Medical Imaging Device Industries of Key West African Countries, JNCI received the highest rating in the industry from customers in terms of customer service. Elements taken into consideration in the survey included responsiveness to customer needs, ability of supplier to offer total solutions and value added technology and services.

JNCI is the exclusive distributor in Nigeria for manufacturers of leading medical technology brands such as Toshiba Medical Systems, Arjo Huntleigh, Maquet (Surgical Workplaces & Critical Care), Tecmed Africa, Penlon and Olympus. The company promotes and supports the entire range of Toshiba medical imaging devices, including Cardiac computed tomography ( CT ) scanners, 1.5Teslar magnetic resonance imagers ( MRI ), Cardiac Cath-Labs and 4D ultrasound technology. It continually expands the breadth of its products, to balance its already extensive portfolio.

A lot of JNCI's big brand competitors focus on selling low specification, low cost equipment with limited life span to the Nigerian market. In contrast, JNCI supplies high quality, appropriate technology, sustainable imaging solutions. Unlike its competitors, the company, for example, does not offer CT technologies below the 16-slices.

JNCI also realises that the product offering not only includes supplying the equipment, but also after sales services, which include installation, commissioning, testing and clinical applications training. Moreover, it offers complete technical support in the form of a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and  maintenance contracts. In addition, they are investing heavily on continuous training & retraining of their team of Biomedical Engineers as well as the setting up of a world class equipment service, testing and repair workshop as part of their commitment to providing seamless after sales service and support to their customers.

In addition to offering standard applications and technical training, JNCI is committed to the clinical training of physicians. The company sends them on training courses to South Africa, UK and/or Egypt. Alternatively, visiting consultants from these countries run training courses in local hospitals on the latest technology trends.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Service Leadership is bestowed upon the company that has demonstrated excellence in customer service leadership within its industry. The recipient company has shown tremendous responsiveness to customer needs and has continually focused on long and short-term customer profitability goals. In addition, the recipient company demonstrated flexibility in tailoring its product offerings to suit customer businesses.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognise companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.
