RamSoft to release new PowerServer PACS version at RSNA

Q: What products, updates or innovations are you announcing or launching at RSNA?

RamSoft will be releasing version 4.5 of the PowerServer PACS at RSNA 2007. This will be the third release under the company's new Customer Action Initiative (CAI), an internal program aimed at customer centric software improvement and development. Attendees will also get a glimpse of RamSoft's new product which will be announced in the coming months.

Innovative new features

• Faxing is an integral part of any imaging enterprise. With that in mind, distributing reports is as simple as setting up a status-based fax distribution list. Once that's done, faxes are sent out automatically and can accommodate both preliminary and final reports to multiple locations.
  
  
• The newly enhanced dictation and transcription package allows facilities to dictate and transcribe one report for any number of related studies.
  
  
• Voice notes allow users to create voice recordings denoting important information about an exam. These notes are separate from the report dictation recording and greatly improve communication between radiologists, technologists and the ER.
  
  
• PowerServer's workflow engine will be fully integrated with TeraRecon AquariusNET, iCAD, EMC Centera, and Dictaphone PowerScribe.

Q: What are the benefits of using your product?

RamSoft's PowerServer features a radiology-focused workflow that makes working with digital studies easier than film. There is no need to access multiple applications before you start reading a study. PowerServer automatically starts-up with the viewing protocols you want, and all the tools you need, right on your study desktop. All study images are presented cropped, sharpened, window and leveled; ready for you to read. With PowerServer, you get away from inefficiencies associated with pre-fetching and swapping between applications because everything you need, including reports and dictations are right there at your finger tips.

Q: What are you hoping to achieve from this year's RSNA?

RamSoft has grown over the past few years to a recognized position in the marketplace. We completed several hospital installations last year, and integrated our software with many other products. At this year's RSNA, we hope that many more attendees will become aware of RamSoft. Our customers look at solutions from many different vendors, before selecting RamSoft because it is simply a better solution. This year, we would like to be considered in many more purchases.

Q: What key messages do you have for RSNA attendees?

RSNA attendees will be looking at a lot of vendors that claim to have an integrated RIS/PACS, yet they will see cobbled together solutions where the RIS and PACS screens don't even look similar. They will also see vendors that display a limited RIS or a limited PACS. However, in booth 4303, RamSoft will be showing a solution that is seamless, practical, and affordable.

Q: How do you see the year ahead in clinical and business terms?

The market continues to embrace our products at an increasing rate, as our reputation spreads through referrals. In the coming year, we will be launching significant new modules that simplify workflow. This should lead to many more opportunities for RamSoft in all three of our core markets: hospitals, outpatient imaging, and teleradiology companies. We are well equipped to compete against the solutions that larger industry players are assembling through acquisition, because we build through innovation.
