SIIM Membership Survey Reveals at SIIM 2009

The SIIM Marketing Committee will present highlights of the survey for further discussion at the upcoming SIIM 2009 Annual Meeting in Charlotte, NC, June 4-7, 2009.
The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) has released results of its 2008/09 membership survey, which highlight the high value placed on the education program and exhibits at the SIIM Annual Meeting across the spectrum of SIIM members. The survey of almost 500 members indicated that the respondents have attended at least one SIIM Annual Meeting, and the annual meeting is ranked highest among SIIM programs. This is reflected in the current pre-registration numbers for SIIM 2009, which are holding steady with an average of the past 3 years attendance (2006-2008).
The survey of SIIM membership continues to shape the direction and development of educational and informational programs offered by SIIM. Respondents' top-rated educational topics included interoperability and integration, communicating results, bridging the IT and clinical perspectives, image-enabled electronic health record (EHR), troubleshooting PACS and implementation issues, advanced processing and visualization, and breast imaging informatics. The SIIM 2009 Annual Meeting has been updated and streamlined this year to spotlight these core focus areas in nine Learning Tracks, and to emphasize essentials such as implementing cost-effective solutions for attendees to take back and share with colleagues at their institutions.
