SIIM 2010 Open Source Plug Fest

Medical Conferences News - SIIM 2010

To increase the exposure of the open-source medical imaging software and growing user and developer base, SIIM will be hosting the highly rated open-source plugfest at SIIM 2010 .

SIIM will once again be hosting the highly rated open-source plugfest at SIIM 10 . Rather than a stuffy collection of powerpoint presentations, the plugfest is an opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of open source software directly with SIIM attendees in a highly interactive setting. SIIM is pleased to announce that we will be awarding the first SIIM open source innovation award to the open-source project voted most innovative by plugfest attendees.

SIIM understands that open source software cannot survive without commerce. If a project is part of a company that does not have a booth in the exhibit hall, then the presenter cannot be an employee of the commercial company. If the company is exhibiting at SIIM10 ,  then there are no restrictions on the presenters. In addition, presenters can only discuss the open source products being presented and cannot promote other products offered by the company.

New for PlugFest 2010

  • Increased exposure by being in the Shared Learning Community, which will be in the Exhibit Hall
  • Open Source Innovator of the Year Award – Voted on by session attendees
  • Project Overview Presentation developed by session chairs
  • Onsite Project Locator Map
  • New and improved set up
