Imaging Informatics Bootcamp and CIIP Forum offered at SIIM 2011.

The Society for Imaging Informatics inMedicine ( SIIM ) announces tools and training to help medical informatics professionals stay competitive in a rapidly changing environment. SIIMwill provide fundamental, up-to-date education and solutions essentialfor imaging informatics professionals (IIPs) and their organizations atthe society's 2011 Annual Meeting, June 2-5, in Washington DC/NationalHarbor, MD.

A pre-conference Imaging Informatics Bootcamp targets not only imaginginformatics professionals to help them prepare with confidence for theABII IIP certification exam; but also physicians, residents,administrators, physicists, IT managers, technologists, and engineerswho are looking to gain a stronger understanding of the fundamentals ofthe PACS environment and the competencies and skills required forpracticing and administering imaging enterprise management systems. TheIIP Bootcamp, a full-day, intensive, training course on Wednesday, June1, provides a foretaste of the more in-depth education that occursthroughout the SIIM 2011 Annual Meeting.

The SIIM Annual Meeting is the most important imaging IT healthcaremeeting of the year for imaging informatics practitioners in all medicalspecialties. Eight Learning Tracks have been engineered in 2011 to becohesive and relevant for using informatics and healthcare IT to dealwith real-world concerns.

A specific roadmap to guide IIPs through SIIM 2011 is available on theSIIM Annual Meeting website. Additionally, a CIIP roadmap is availablefor the go-to sessions at SIIM 2011 geared to the continuing educationand re-certification of CIIP diplomats. SIIM provides certificates ofattendance to attendees of the IIP bootcamp and all SIIM 2011 sessionsfor reporting continuing education hours to the American Board ofImaging Informatics (ABII).
