SNM 2011 Annual Meeting will take place June 4–8, 2011, at the San Antonio Convention, Sports & Entertainment Facilities Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Student Technologist Registry Review

Day 1: Saturday, June 4 from 9:00am - 6:00pm
Day 2: Sunday, June 5 from 2:30 - 5:30pm

This course is designed as a review for nuclear medicine technology students and others preparing to sit for the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examinations. The course includes an 8-hour review session on Saturday and a mock registry examination on Sunday.

The review session will consist of a review of the Components of Preparedness statements, including the commonly performed tasks in specific content areas as well as review of the procedures, equipment, and pharmaceuticals commonly used. The mock examination will follow the typical registry examination format. Time is allowed for grading and discussion of the examination answers. Participants should bring calculators.

The review session will be informative as well as interactive and fun, with prizes awarded to participating students.

NCT Certification Review and Mock Examination

Day 1: Thursday, June 2 from 1:00 - 6:00pm
Day 2: Friday, June 3 from 7:30am - 6:15pm
Day 3: Saturday, June 4 from 7:30 - 11:30am

This program is designed for nuclear medicine technologists with experience in cardiac imaging who are considering sitting for the Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NCT) certification exam. Attendees will be presented with a review of the NMTCB published Nuclear Cardiology Examination Content Specifications.

The NCT Certification Review and Mock Examination will enhance and reinforce your knowledge of:

  • Cardiac anatomy
  • Physiology
  • Pathology
  • Electrophysiology

Plus, you will learn valuable information on ECG interpretation, stress test end points, exercise capacity and performance measures, as well as cardiac and emergent medications.

Nuclear Medicine Board Review

Day 1: Saturday, June 4 from 7:30am - 6:00pm
Day 2: Sunday, June 5 from 9:45am - 6:15pm

The course covers adult and pediatric general nuclear medicine, PET / CT, and nuclear cardiology. Imaging protocols, image interpretation, and limitations/pitfalls will be reviewed. NRC rules and regulations also will be reviewed.

CT Case Review Workshop

Tuesday, June 7

Wednesday, June 8

The oncological CT case review will provide 16 hours of CT case review over 2 consecutive days for nuclear medicine physicians who are not certified in diagnostic radiology. Attendees will review and interpret 100 CT studies (25 per session) under the direct supervision of a board-certified radiologist. Sessions are divided by body part as head and neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and retroperitoneum.

Attendees will answer a series of multiple-choice questions regarding the major findings or interpretation for each case reviewed. Live polling is offered as an interactive continuing education activity, followed by an explanation of the results and objectives to be fulfilled in completing the consultation.

Attendees could apply this training to the aggregate of 500 CT evaluations recommended for credentialing in CT performed as part of PET / CT or SPECT / CT, as outlined by the guidelines of the American College of Radiology and Society of Nuclear Medicine.
