A Shared Commitment to Delivering Comprehensive Imaging Informatics Solutions to the Spectrum of the Healthcare Community

Sage North America announced that its Healthcare Division, which provides electronic health records ( EHR ) and practice management software and services to approximately 80,000 physicians in North America, has teamed with Agfa HealthCare to offer a Picture Archiving and Communication System ( PACS ) for radiology and orthopedic practices.

Sage will serve as the reseller for the Agfa HealthCare PACS and Computed Radiology ( CR ) solutions, enhancing Sage 's product portfolio that includes practice management, EHR and clinical and business intelligence. Sage will offer installation of the PACS software, along with user support and training. Additionally, through this new relationship, Agfa HealthCare will refer ambulatory clients who seek practice management software and EHRs to Sage.

Agfa HealthCare imaging systems capture, process and manage diagnostic images from a multitude of sources within and beyond the healthcare enterprise, integrating these into a variety of workflows and systems. These systems are designed to bring vital information to medical practitioners regardless of their location. Agfa HealthCare's solutions serve a wide range of medical specialties and departments including radiology, cardiology, orthopedics, women's care and intensive care units.

Prior to this new relationship, Agfa HealthCare 's primary footprint was in the hospital market. The opportunity allows Agfa HealthCare to broaden its presence in the ambulatory market where Sage is primarily focused, while giving Sage the flexibility to offer PACS solutions to the radiology and orthopedic markets.
