Norrbotten County Council enhances radiology efficiency with IT solution from Sectra
Norrbotten County Council has invested in a county-wide IT solution for radiology information management, Sectra RIS , from IT and medical technology company Sectra. Through integration with existing EPR, all patient information from radiology examinations will be managed efficiently throughout the county. The order value amounts to SEK 7 million.
The County Council will roll out the new system at five hospitals and in affiliated medical care centers with radiology operations at the end of 2011. These units combined conduct about 200,000 radiology examinations each year. Sectra’s IT solution will be integrated with the Council’s new EPR and affiliated systems, and used in the radiology, nuclear medicine, clinical physiology and clinical mammography departments.
“Sectra was the supplier that offered the best overall solution in terms of functionality, integration and price. Sectra RIS is a flexible system with a variety of configuration possibilities and an advanced technological solution,” says Stig Palm, Technical Director of the Swedish Society of Radiology in Norrbotten County Council. “By investing in this stable and reliable system, we have made a choice for the future.”
“Our long experience in the medical IT field, and our close collaboration with customers, ensures that our products are user-friendly and have the functionality and performance that is required for carrying out each separate process as efficiently as possible,” says Marie Ekström, President of Sectra’s medical operation in Northern Europe.
