University Medical Center of El Paso, El Paso, TX selected Sectra PACS

The medical technology company, Sectra (NASDAQ OMX Stockholm: SECT B), announces its agreement to deploy the new-generation Sectra PACS (IDS7) enterprise solution at the University Medical Center of El Paso, El Paso, TX.

“We selected Sectra PACS IDS7 because it is very customizable, it meets the requirements of our radiologists and physicians extremely well,” said Adriana Espino, Manager of Imaging Informatics, UMC El Paso. “The drag and drop simplicity, advanced visualization tools, teaching files and reporting features are just some of the reasons which differentiated Sectra PACS during our selection process,” added Espino.

UMC El Paso is a 330-bed community hospital that handles approximately 180,000 radiology procedures on an annual basis.  UMC is the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and it’s the primary teaching institution of Texas Tech University Medical School in El Paso.   The Imaging Department includes state-of-the-art equipment and faculty who specialize in Pediatric Radiology, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Neuroradiology, Abdominal/Chest, Musculoskeletal, Mammography and ED Radiology.

Sectra partnered with HP to help UMC El Paso speed access to archived images, add disaster recovery and improve efficiencies through HP’s Storage Works Extreme Data Storage System.
