Sentinelle Introduces Breast MRI Coils: RSNA 2009

Company News - Sentinelle Medical, Inc.

Sentinelle Medical extends its line of award winning breast coils at this year's Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago

Sentinelle Medical Inc., a leading manufacturer of breast MRI coils and 4D advanced visualization software, extends its line of award winning breast coils at this year's Radiological Society of North America annual meeting ( RSNA 2009 ) in Chicago, Nov. 30 - Dec. 5, 2009 (Booth 5800, Hall A).

With the unique Vanguard patient support design and proprietary Variable Coil Geometry, Sentinelle Medical 's line of breast coils are recognized for delivering unprecedented image quality and interventional access in MRI. Dr. Bruce Porter of First Hill Diagnostic Imaging in Seattle, WA states "The extremely high signal to noise and resolution of the Sentinelle breast coil, especially for the axillary tail and nodes, clearly advances breast MR both for diagnosis and as a breast cancer staging tool." In 2008, Sentinelle released Vanguard 1.5T 8 channel offerings for GE, Siemens and Toshiba MRI systems. At RSNA 2009, Sentinelle will introduce a number of new Vanguard breast coils, expanding both the depth and breadth of offerings for each of their key partners.

The Vanguard for GE is known for its workflow-enhancing 1.5T 8 channel stretcher-based coil solution. This year, Sentinelle is showcasing a significantly expanded line of both stretcher and tabletop-based solutions that address both 1.5T and 3.0T imaging on GE's SignaHDxt, Discovery and Optima MRI platforms that will ship in 2010. The lineup for the SignaHDxt platform will add a 3T 8 channel stretcher and a 1.5T 8 channel tabletop offering. Sentinelle is also excited to introduce high channel count offerings for GE's new platforms with the 1.5T 16 channel Optima MR450w stretcher-based coil and the 3.0T 16 channel Discovery MR750 tabletop coil.

Sentinelle Medical 's Vanguard for Siemens product line is expanded from the current 1.5T 8 channel offerings for the MAGNETOM Espree, MAGNETOM Avanto and MAGNETOM Symphony, A Tim System to include both a value and a 3T offering. At RSNA 2009, Sentinelle will be showing the only imaging and interventional breast coil available for the MAGNETOM ESSENZA platform. This coil has a number of unique features including the ability to perform angled biopsies, allowing clinicians the maximum access to the breast for interventional procedures. The Vanguard for Siemens product line will now include a new 8 channel offering for Siemens 3.0T MAGNETOM Verio and MAGNETOM Trio MRIs.

Sentinelle is also excited to add to the current 1.5T Vantage Atlas and Vantage Titan Vanguard for Toshiba product line with the new Vantage Titan 3T. An offering for the 1.5T Vantage will also be demonstrated.

In keeping with Sentinelle's reputation for innovation, a number of new product offerings will be profiled at RSNA 2009. Verity, Sentinelle's angled biopsy device, enables significantly greater biopsy access over traditional grid-based approaches. Sentinelle will also be demonstrating a new MRI Prostate Imaging and Interventional Suite. Aegis, Sentinelle's 4D Advanced Visualization Software Platform, has also been expanded to include a zero footprint Aegis Web option, and new modules enabling a host of new MRI/Ultrasound Navigation* technologies, making the most of its customers' MRI investment.

" Sentinelle Medical 's remains focused on delivering clinically relevant products that better enable our customers to manage cancer." said Cameron Piron, Sentinelle's President and CEO. "It is rewarding to be able to support our partners and customers with a greatly expanded line of products that will broaden access to these important technologies."
