Chorley and South Ribble with Siemens' Ultrasound
| Company News - Siemens Healthcare |
Chorley and South Ribble Hospital is benefiting from superior image quality across a range of procedures, with the installation of a second ACUSON S2000 ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare.
It has also received the syngo Auto OB software application and a 9L4 transducer. The setup is being used primarily for obstetric examinations as well as some general scanning work, including small parts imaging.
Siemens ’ syngo Auto OB application draws on a large database of ultrasound images to provide instant and automated biometric measurements to the sonographer without the need for manual calculations. The superior image quality also means that patients do not need to be brought back for repeat scans, helping to streamline workflow. Plus, the advanced imaging system and a 4C1 transducer help with the fetal imaging of patients of a larger Body Mass Index (BMI).
The 9L4 transducer is a linear probe that delivers high frequency imaging resolution for superior clarity and detail. Due to its high level of image quality the hospital is able to use it for nuchal translucency screening in the first trimester. Its ergonomic and lightweight design is also helping to reduce the amount of repetitive strain injury suffered by sonographers at the hospital.
“We had no hesitation in selecting a second S2000 because of its fantastic image quality and state-of-the art design,” said Tracy Butcher, Consultant Sonographer at Chorley and SouthRibbleHospital. “The image quality powered by the 9L4 transducer is also a big advantage as it is allowing us to carry out much more detailed examinations. The applications training we received from Siemens was and continues to be of the highest quality.”
“The S2000 offers an adaptable solution for obtaining highly detailed obstetric and fetal scans, while the 9L4 transducer is able to offer more anatomical information to enable a quicker and more confident diagnosis,” said Bernadette Leonard, Regional Sales Manager for Ultrasound Products at Siemens Healthcare.
