Siemens Healthcare presents solutions to power productivity on stand 250 at UKRC
At this year’s UKRC, Siemens will be showcasing its range of solutions to power imaging productivity on stand number 250. Directly addressing the need for clinicians to gain maximum value now and over the long term from their investment, Siemens’ new offerings have been designed to help imaging professionals maximise productivity through equipment innovation.
Demonstrations of Siemens’ latest software innovation for multi-modality reporting will be available to stand visitors. syngo.via has been designed to reduce the manual steps in pre-processing. This streamlines image interpretation and reporting, creating time efficiencies of more than ten minutes per case. It also optimises cost ownership inside the health environment and delivers continuous return on investment.
Productivity gains in MRI will also be highlighted by the MAGNETOM Skyra, a 3 Tesla system with Tim (Total imaging matrix) technology, which supplies power for the generation of superb image quality with the addition of Dot (Day optimising throughput), a new workflow engine. The high image quality of the system coupled with automated workflows steps has the potential to improve productivity by up to 30 per cent.
Siemens will also showcase the future proof MAMMOMAT Inspiration full field digital mammography system for screening, diagnostics and biopsy. Equipped to offer 3D tomosynthesis, the system provides investment security to meet anticipated needs as healthcare evolves. Productivity in mammography can also be enhanced with the high-speed syngo MammoReport workstation for reading and reporting both screening and diagnostic information. The Inspiration and workstation will be showcased in a mobile breast imaging trailer adjacent to the stand.
Delegates will be able to view the ACUSON S2000 ultrasound system, with knowledge-based workflow software to optimise efficiency during examinations. Supplemented with the ACUSON S2000 Automated Breast Volume Scanner ( ABVS ), Siemens will demonstrate its ability to acquire detailed sonographic volumes of breast anatomy and pathology for improved analysis and reporting.
Efficiencies in angiography will be demonstrated via a simulator showcasing the Artis zee range for interventional imaging in radiology and cardiology. The multipurpose ARCADIS Avantic C-arm with powerful performance and large Field of View (FoV) plus the MOBILETT XP Digital mobile X-ray system will also be on display.
Siemens Remote Services and Life teams will be demonstrating how customer support can improve productivity, enhancing system performance and delivering workflow efficiencies over the lifetime of equipment.
Also available to delegates on the Siemens stand will be Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited education courses running throughout UKRC. Topics include 3D surgical imaging, breast ultrasound and MR spectroscopy. Bookings can be made via

Siemens will also be sponsoring a series of Satellite Sessions in the Exhibition Hall, including ‘Technical Advances in Cardiac MRI - what the future holds’ presented by Professor Dudley Pennell from Royal Brompton Hospital; ‘New trends in interventional imaging within the operating theatre environment’ presented by Dr. Georg Nollert; and ‘Making the economic argument for installing a true hybrid PET•CT system’ presented by Dr. Kuehl from the University of Essen / Duisburg.
The UK Radiological Congress (UKRC) is taking place on 7 - 9 June 2010 at the NIA & ICC in Birmingham.
