Siemens Healthcare 's two-in-one radiography and fluoroscopy system installed
Kent and Sussex Hospital, part of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, has installed an AXIOM Luminos dRFT two-in-one system from Siemens Healthcare for radiography and fluoroscopy imaging. The fully digital system gives instant images and introduces a wireless detector for easier handling and positioning during the patient examination.
The Luminos dRF has already delivered benefits to the department by speeding up patient examinations from GP referrals, enabling more people to be seen during the working day. Workflow has been enhanced due to the versatility and mobility of the wireless detector and greater comfort during examinations passed to patients. The advantage of digital fluoroscopy also means that images can be archived directly into patient files or PACS without manual administration.
"The Luminos dRF has completely transformed our imaging capabilities and lightened the load on operators," said Anthony Richards, Advanced Practitioner at Kent and Sussex Hospital. "As the light, wireless detector is independent of the table it enables more comfortable examinations for elderly or frail patients. Also with great quality images available for review in a few seconds, we have a solution that ticks the box for clinical and operational needs."
"The Luminos dRF is a highly versatile system and Kent and Sussex Hospital's early user experiences are testimony to the positive benefits that can be made to department workflow and in improving the user experience," said Alex Edwards, Product Specialist for Fluoroscopy Systems at Siemens Healthcare .
