New devices offer better hearing, increased sound comfort and individuality
Siemens Hearing Instruments has announced the launch of its next generation of LifeT, PureT and MotionT hearing instruments for individuals with mild to severe hearing loss. New additions to Siemens' hearing instrument portfolio include the PureT Special Edition (SE), an exclusive and especially discreet receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) device. Its teardrop shape makes it almost invisible to the ear and it is available in two styles, 'Grace' and 'Spirit', giving it a modern and timeless look.

The popular customised Motion in-the-ear (ITE) instruments are alsoavailable and can be built even smaller than previous models to offer greater comfort, convenience and discretion. Motion behind-the-ear (BTE) instruments are available in multiple housing colours including three different combinations, 'Antarctica', 'Alaska' and 'Sahara'. The wearer can personalise the instrument by adding and changing colours to complement skin and hair tones as well as fashion tastes.
The new instrument range is built around BestSoundT Technology, which includes three new state-of-the-art technologies offering better hearing, improved sound comfort and increased individuality for the wearer. "BestSound Technology combines innovative technology with subtlety to ensure each wearer is given a customised hearing instrument with automatic functions that is discreet and fashionable to suit their lifestyle," said Liz Martin, Retail Product Manager at Siemens Hearing Instruments. "We are going to run a series of one-to-one meetings with hearing instrument dispensers across the UK to demonstrate how the latest innovations ensure each wearer will enjoy every decibel of life to the fullest."
Further advancements to Siemens' sophisticated feedback cancellation system with the new technology FeedbackStopperT significantly improve comfort by suppressing and eliminating annoying and embarrassing whistling before it is heard by the wearer using a frequency shift of 25 Hz. It also eliminates artifacts using innovative Acoustic Fingerprint Technology. This marks the amplified signal leaving the instrument receiver so that it can be easily identified as feedback if it is picked up by the hearing instrument microphones again and instantly cancelled.

SpeechFocusT offers three dimensional hearing, improving even further on existing directional microphone technology to ensure the optimal directional pattern for speech understanding is automatically engaged, even in the noisiest environments. SpeechFocus continually analyses the environment to detect speech and automatically focuses in the right direction, even if the speech is coming from behind the wearer.
SoundLearningR 2.0 records and remembers the wearer's listening preferences in specific situations and automatically adjusts when in similar environments to the appropriate mode for conversation, music, or noise.
