Superior clarity and detail powered by the 9L4 transducer and ACUSON S2000 from Siemens Healthcare

A fetal imaging poster that illustrates highly detailed clinical images of fetal anatomy is available for gynaecology, maternity and fetal medicine departments. It displays pictures obtained using a 9L4 transducer, which integrates with the ACUSON S2000 diagnostic ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare.

The 9L4 transducer uses a revised linear format to deliver high frequency imaging resolution for an unprecedented level of anatomical clarity. This is particularly beneficial for target scanning of congenital abnormalities in obstetrics. The poster illustrates anomalies from 20 week referral scans picked up by the linear probe. This includes unilateral cleft lip and palate, plus Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum and Dandy-Walker malformation.

The poster also includes images of normal ultrasound appearance of the optical artery and posterior fossa at 26 weeks gestation, plus fetal lips in the coronal plane and the cerebellum after 33 weeks.

The 9L4 transducer has been developed by Siemens Healthcare to offer greater information and interpretation for the clinician. It also offers a trapezoid field of view to quickly provide an extended sector format.

The poster will serve as both an interesting and valuable education tool for trainee sonographers and expectant parents. To obtain a copy for your department please email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
