Frost & Sullivan Lauds SonoScape's Outstanding Entrepreneurship
| Company News - SonoScape Co Ltd. |
The 2008 Frost & Sullivan European Ultrasound Entrepreneurial Company Award is presented to SonoScape Co. Ltd.
With a strong focus on developing highly sophisticated and ergonomically friendly ultrasound technologies at affordable prices, the company has been able to attract significant brand loyalty among small and large healthcare practitioners in both public and private settings. Backed by its pioneering S8 color Doppler system and its portfolio of cost-effective, portable and cart based ultrasound systems including the SSI-1000, the company has registered double digit growth in European markets since 2004.
SonoScape's highly versatile portable ultrasound system - SSI-1000, enables a general abdominal scan. It also renders high resolution images of vascular structures, obstetrics and gynecology (ob/gyn), transcranial and small organs. Besides, the exceptional image quality and clear Zoom feature at maximum depths makes it ideal for cardiology applications. Its compact nature and wide range of ultrasound probes ensures its utility in urology, prostate and surgical applications.
"With high speed picture editing in colour Doppler and power Doppler modes, the system offers the flexibility to choose the area of interest from the image with ease," notes Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Krishanu Bhattacharjee. "Moreover, this easy-to-maintain system is priced at approximately one third the price of competing alternatives."
The company's highly innovative approach towards product development has been underlined by its recent product - the S8 portable color Doppler system. The 4D system is incorporated with a 15 inch high resolution display and a high density probe capable of rendering superior quality images, especially for cardiac applications.
"Being the only 4D ultrasound system in its unique price range, S8 is expected to aid the propagation of 4D imaging technology not only to large university hospitals but also to smaller private clinics," adds Bhattacharjee. "By making patient diagnosis a lot more accurate and affordable, S8 is set to revolutionise European markets in the coming years."
SonoScape's constant efforts in product development and workflow optimization in its production process has ensured that its ultrasound products remain competitively priced. As a result, the company has been able to contribute towards the propagation of ultrasound imaging modalities to many smaller hospitals as well as private practitioners with restricted budgets.
"Despite being low priced, the features of its impressive products remain highly sophisticated," remarks Bhattacharjee. "Examples of this include the SSI-5000, SonoScape's ultrasound system for radiology and cardiology scanning and its SSI-6000 mid-range system which offers a cutting edge microscan technology, typically available only in high-end units from the leading global manufacturers."
Ergonomic designs have been another hallmark of the company as demonstrated by the SSI-8000, the latest addition to the company's large product range. This system offers a convenient package for cardiology and ob/gyn procedures as well as allows 4D imaging capabilities. The company's low-priced black and white ultrasound systems such as SSI-600, also offer 3D imaging as well as wide band, high-density and 4 multi-frequency probes, normally offered by competitors in their high priced color systems.
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Entrepreneurial Company is presented to the small company that demonstrated superior entrepreneurial ability in its industry during the research period.
