Sonora Medical Unit Receives 8th US Patent for Ultrasound Probe Testing Device

Company News - Sonora Medical Systems, Inc.

Sonora Medical Systems announces the Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded U.S. Patent No. D599,232 to Sonora Medical Systems

Sonora Medical Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of after market products, services and test equipment to the medical imaging ultrasound and MRI markets, announces that the Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded U.S. Patent No. D599,232 to Sonora Medical Systems. This is the first patent awarded for its unique Universal Current Leakage Testing Adapter and Sonora Medical Systems 8th patent overall. The inventors are Steven E. Dananay, James Ginther, and G. Wayne Moore. Commenting on the patent award, G. Wayne Moore, President and CEO of Sonora Medical Systems, said, “This patent marks the 8th US patent awarded to Sonora and the 1st patent specific to our exciting new iTest family of ultrasound probe electrical leakage testing products. The Universal Adapter (UA) is used in conjunction with our iTest device for testing the electrical leakage of diagnostic ultrasound probes - essential for patient safety. The UA device will accept any ultrasound probe that uses 156, 260, 360 pins, or pinless connectors, thereby eliminating the need to purchase the multiple adapters necessary with currently marketed devices. As a leader in the development of products and services for both the ultrasound and MRI markets, we believe our UA device will further underscore our commitments toward increasing patient safety and reducing the costs of testing and maintaining ultrasound probes.” Sonora Medical Systems will show and demonstrate the iTest and the Universal Adapter, as well as the TD-100 automated TEE probe disinfector at the upcoming annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists in New Orleans, October 17th - 21st in Booth 2158, and the MD Expo in Nashville, September 24th - 27th in Booth 221.
