Sunquest Information Systems Congratulates those customers who are listed on Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals.

Sunquest Information Systems, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare diagnostic information technology and outreach solutions, announced that a number of its customers are among those listed on Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals.

Sunquest Information Systems, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare diagnostic information technology and outreach solutions, announced that a number of its customers are among those listed on Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: National Benchmarks 100 (http://www.100tophospitals.com/top-national-hospitals.). Many also received the Everest Award for National Benchmarks, for the fastest rates of long-term improvement.

Sunquest customers earned nearly 25 percent of the spots on the Thomson Reuters Top Hospitals list this year. About 39 percent of the winners of the Everest Award for National Benchmarks 2010, and 29 percent of the Most Wired 2009, use one or more of Sunquest’s solutions.

Atkin added that about 48 percent of those listed on the US News Best Hospitals Honor Roll 2009-2010 use Sunquest solutions.

The Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: National Benchmarks is an annual, quantitative study that identifies the best hospitals, overall, as measured on the 100 Top Hospitals Balanced Scorecard. Hospitals are evaluated against similar hospitals, in terms of size and teaching status.

Hospitals eligible for inclusion are general and applicable specialty, short-term, acute care, non-federal U.S. hospitals treating a broad spectrum of patients. The study measures ten key performance measures, including risk-adjusted mortality index, risk-adjusted complications index, and risk-adjusted patient safety index.

The Everest Award honors an elite special group of the National Award winners. Everest Award winners have reached the highest level of accomplishment on the national Balanced Scorecard and have the fastest rates of long-term improvement.
