T.RAD Wireless Helps Lansdale Hospital Emergency Department Conduct Faster Exams
Since reducing X-ray exam time in the ER is crucial to improving patient care, Lansdale Hospital has installed Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.’s T.RAD PlusTM X-ray system with the new wireless detector, the first U.S. installation with the new detector. The new 14 x 17–inch wireless DR panel on T.RAD Plus allows for enhanced mobility, helping the hospital to increase patient throughput.
“In a busy ER setting, Toshiba’s T.RAD Plus wireless is incredibly easy to use and has significantly cut down the time it takes to perform exams,” said Sherri Koller, supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging, Lansdale Hospital. “The wireless DR panel eliminates the limitations with tethered detectors and is extremely beneficial in improving exam efficiency.”
The T.RAD’s wireless flat-panel digital detector, coupled with a 650-pound weight capacity table with a rotating bucky tray, allows technologists to image a wide range of patients quickly and efficiently.
“Healthcare facilities require digital X-ray technology that can obtain images quickly and accurately for diagnosis,” said Stephen Bumb, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. “The T.RAD Plus X-ray system provides the ultimate in digital technology with productivity solutions to help overcome the everyday challenges facing today’s radiography departments.”
Toshiba and Carestream, a worldwide provider of dental and medical imaging systems and healthcare IT solutions, have entered into a strategic business partnership to provide these wireless capabilities across Toshiba’s X-ray product line.
