Performance Pro Education Program Helps John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County Tailor Education to Fit its Needs
Understanding that each customer has unique needs, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. partners with institutions to create customizable training and education programs. John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, in Chicago, Ill., acquired one Aquilion™ Large Bore, one Aquilion 64 and four Aquilion 32 systems in the past year, and received training through the Performance Pro program.
As part of the Performance Pro three-phased process, technologists from John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County visited the Toshiba Institute of Advanced Imaging in Irvine, Calif., to learn the fundamentals of basic and advanced CT scanning, followed by additional on-site training with Toshiba applications specialists. Then, before the final stage of the program, John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County requested a comprehensive test for technologists to determine the focus of its remaining education. Toshiba used the results to tailor the final stage of training.
“The comprehensive test showed where our employees excelled and where they needed more attention,” said David Smith, technical manager, John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. “The ability to customize the training ensured our technologists had full understanding of our technology to utilize the equipment to its fullest potential.”
“This is a great example of how Performance Pro empowers our customers to tailor their education plan and provide optimal patient care,” said Sharon Yoon, senior director, National Sales Programs, Toshiba. “In the future, we plan to administer this comprehensive test at other sites as another way to determine training needs.”
