| Company News - Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation |

Toshiba Showcases Premium Portable, Advanced Ultrasound at ACEP.
Ultrasound is often used as a first-line exam to quickly and safely diagnose a range of patient conditions in the emergency department. At this year's American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) annual scientific assembly in San Francisco, Oct. 15--18, 2011 (Booth #316), Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. will highlight the advanced imaging technologies and ergonomic design of the Viamo(TM)laptop ultrasound system. With the flexibility to be used as a laptop or in tablet mode, the Viamo is ready to use in emergency settings, and its dynamic touch screen allows for seamless and comfortable system operation.
Toshiba's Viamo is the industry's no-compromise laptop ultrasound system, with advanced imaging capabilities previously unavailable on systems of its size. Equipped with the performance of Toshiba's larger, cart-based systems, Viamo delivers best-in-class image quality and penetration from the operating room to a patient's bedside in any clinical setting. Additionally, the system's rapid boot-up feature takes the system from standby to scan mode in seconds, ensuring its availability for any emergency setting.
"Enhancing imaging capabilities for improved diagnostic confidence and workflow are paramount in today's demanding healthcare environment," says Tomohiro Hasegawa, director, Ultrasound Business Unit, Toshiba. "Regardless of the exam, the Viamo allows clinicians to capture high-quality images efficiently, illustrating Toshiba's commitment to developing ultrasound systems with advanced clinical capabilities, combined with an ergonomically friendly design."
