PreView Imaging Opens 3D-4D Prenatal Ultrasound Center in Cookeville

PreView Imaging Centers recently opened a 3D-4D Prenatal Ultrasound center in Cookeville, TN, saving expectant mothers in Middle Tennessee the long drive to Nashville or Knoxville for this popular service.
PreView Imaging Centers, a locally owned and operated 3D-4D Ultrasound Center, recently opened its doors to expectant mothers in Middle Tennessee, offering a popular service that once required a long trek to Nashville or Knoxville.

Owner Lori Parton is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, as well as Cardiac and Vascular ultrasound. After more than 22 years working in a clinical setting, Parton says it was her dream to open her own 3D-4D Prenatal Ultrasound Center.

"Prenatal ultrasound has always been where my heart lies", says Parton, "and the technology has advanced to such a point that it is such a unique experience when the parents see their baby's face in 3D for the first time - it's just amazing to see life begin at such an early stage, I just couldn't see myself doing anything else!"

Parton says her 3D-4D ultrasound scans differ from the typical two dimensional diagnostic sonograms performed by OB/GYNs and Physicians - which typically only last a few minutes and focus on identifying fetal abnormalities, and offer patients only a few grainy black and white images. "The scans done in our center are done in a gallery atmosphere, which is so much more relaxing. I have the luxury of taking my time and getting to know my clients - and their babies!" says Parton. "My clients can bring their friends and family, who can watch the ultrasound scan in real time on our HDTV while relaxing on our couch instead of sitting in a waiting room. We even have a package for Baby Showers. We provide a lot of unique extras that OBs and Physicians just can't offer."

3D ultrasound renders the growing baby's features in three dimensions, as opposed to the traditional flat two dimensional, or 2D, diagnostic ultrasound. 4D ultrasound adds the fourth dimension of time, allowing parents and loved ones to view their growing baby in real-time. PreView Imaging Centers offers several packages that include the 4D video on DVD as well as 3D still images from the scan.

PreView Imaging Centers requires that clients be receiving prenatal care, and insists that their 3D-4D ultrasound scans are not to be used in place of clinical, diagnostic ultrasound scans.
