The *University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM)*, Department of Veterinary Clinical & Diagnostic Sciences is seeking to fill a *full-time tenure-track* faculty position in *veterinary medical imaging.
The position will be expected to play a lead role in developing and delivering medical imaging and the DVM program. Clinical service will be delivered through engagement with one of UCVM's partner referral clinics and through service to partner clinics involved in our teaching program. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to establish an independent or collaborative research program.
UCVM is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and access to MRI and microCT systems are available. The position provides an exceptional opportunity to interact within a well established medical imaging research program at the University of Calgary. There are unique research opportunities through participation of in the University of Calgary Health Research Institutes and through collaboration with the regional veterinary community.
Qualifications include a DVM degree, with advanced training in medical imaging/radiology. Board certification or eligibility is required. An advanced degree or demonstrated research experience is expected for a candidate wishing an appointment with a research emphasis. Appointments with clinical responsibilities require eligibility for licensure in the province of Alberta.
The distribution of effort between teaching, research, and clinical service will be negotiated according to the interests of the successful candidate. Appointment will be as an *assistant or associate professor*, with rank and salary commensurate with experience.
UCVM is Canada's fifth accredited veterinary college and accepted its first class in September 2008. The DVM program combines a comprehensive general veterinary education with enhanced opportunities in selected areas. The integrated core-elective curriculum combines discipline-based courses with extensive on-campus and off-campus practical learning. UCVM uses a distributed veterinary learning community including public and private practice partners to deliver its fourth year practicum program. Clinical activity is through engagement with regional practices.
