Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Visage Imaging, Inc. for its Medical Imaging Informatics in Healthcare Innovation

Company News - Visage Imaging, Inc.

Frost & Sullivan recognizes Visage Imaging , Inc. with the 2010 North American Frost & Sullivan Healthcare Innovation of the Year Award.

Based on its recent analysis of the medical imaging informatics market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Visage Imaging , Inc. with the 2010 North American Frost & Sullivan Healthcare Innovation of the Year Award.

"Since 2009, Visage Imaging has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Pro Medicus Ltd., a leading healthcare and imaging informatics provider based in Australia," states Frost & Sullivan Senior Industry Analyst Nadim Daher. "Synergies between the two companies have been optimally leveraged and with this acquisition, Pro Medicus has been able to translate its dominance in the Australian RIS market into an increased penetration of the PACS and advanced visualization markets worldwide."

As an advanced clinical 3D/4D visualization technology provider with distinguished excellence in thin client delivery and server side rendering performance, Visage Imaging has created a new market niche with Visage 7, an archive-neutral diagnostic and clinical viewing application, providing  comprehensive imaging workflow spanning all modalities and subspecialties.  With the ability to overlay and augment existing legacy PACS applications, integrate with EMR solutions for improved care delivery, or provide the next generation of 3DPACS, Visage Imaging is poised to leverage its unique technology in a market starved for innovation.

"By coupling our PACS knowledge and experience with cutting edge advanced visualization and thin client technologies, Visage Imaging maintains a solid competitive advantage over traditional PACS industry participants and dedicated advanced visualization vendors," remarks John Danahy, General Manager of North America. "We are proud to partner with our physician and hospital customers to combine our technology with their professional services expertise to improve patient care, while creating new revenue generating opportunities and alternative care delivery models. We see the business of Radiology evolving rapidly in a challenging economy and believe that Visage 7 will be instrumental to the success of imaging businesses in the months and years ahead."

Through an unwavering commitment to R&D and recognition of the emerging market requirements for ubiquitous image access, high performance over low bandwidth, and computing platform independence, Visage Imaging has been able to fuel its rapid product development cycles, and implement the innovative platform and features contained in the Visage 7 release.

" Visage 7 is designed to fill the gaps left open by loosely integrated, legacy diagnostic imaging applications," notes Daher. "In many ways, it meets the specific pain points of today's imaging customers without the need for turnkey replacements."
Similarly, the recent partnership with Accelarad and renewed partnership with 7 Medical brings Visage Imaging to the leading edge of cloud computing and managed services for medical imaging, a rapidly emerging business solution designed to provide interconnectivity and care continuance, while alleviating capital accessibility pressures in the market. With new solutions such as these, Visage Imaging is truly living up to its vision of enhancing workflow efficiency and improving reading performance, all while remaining cost efficient.

Recent primary research conducted by Frost & Sullivan with medical imaging IT stakeholders in the U.S. has confirmed the utmost importance for advanced visualization and traditional 2D PACS on a unified 'universal' viewer and the ability to diffuse its capabilities enterprise wide through direct or EMR integrated means. Visage Imaging stands out in an otherwise unfulfilling industry landscape and delivers efficiently on both of these aspects.

"With Visage 7, Visage Imaging is bringing the technology it has developed in Europe and Australia to the U.S. to create a new market space with its thin client 3DPACS and Universal Viewer.  Given the similarities between the Australian and the U.S. imaging provider landscapes in particular, U.S. facilities are set to reap the benefits experienced by their foreign counterparts," concludes Daher. "As such, the momentum that Visage Imaging has witnessed in recent months in the U.S. market has every reason to continue as more recognition of their innovative approach to solving complex healthcare challenges is realized."
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has demonstrated excellence in the following categories: breakthrough approach/ degree of differentiation innovation compared to other market participants, product innovation in terms of unique or revolutionary technology, penetration rate of new markets, significance of innovation in the industry, leading proactive initiatives to improve value to customers, advancement of the industry through research, implementation of a new or unique pricing strategy, implementation of a new or unique marketing strategy and creating new venues, such as online services, for an established product.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.
