National Nigerian Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre Selects Viztek Digital Technology

Company News - Viztek
Viztek a leading PACS developer, announces installation of its Onyx Acquire digital image management solution at The National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Training Centre in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The facility selected Viztek’s Onyx-Acquire to complement its new MinXRay portable x-ray units to implement digital diagnostic capabilities.

The north central Nigerian facility is affiliated with the American-based program, President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) whose primary focus is to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS, as well as combat tuberculosis and leprosy.

MinXray was responsible for the digital technology sale, installation and training.  In addition to Onyx-Acquire, it supplied the center with the portable MinXray HF120/60HPPWV PowerPlusTM   and XGSMKIVLW stand.

Onyx Acquire supports digital x-ray viewing, measurement and distribution. With over 2000 installations worldwide, it is an affordable solution that leads the industry for rapid deployment.  In addition to the installed Kodak Point-of-Care 260 Computed Radiography (CR) for in-house use, the facility will also install the Point-of-Care CR 140 for mobile use in the near future.

The new Viztek-MinXray technology installation represents the first time in 30 years the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Training Centre has had access to x-ray technology.  Staff are enthusiastic about the Viztek software application and the significant step up in the Center’s diagnostic capabilities.

Commenting on the installation, Viztek COO, John Monville notes, “We are truly excited about the prospect of our software contributing to the fight against devastating illness.  We are truly proud to be a part of this installation.”

“We look forward to a productive ongoing relationship with the center and Viztek,” adds MinXray vice president of marketing and sales Joel Koplos.
