Redwood City, Calif. (PRWEB) June 15, 2010 -- Ziosoft, Inc., a leader in supercomputing, advanced visualization and functional analytics for the medical care market, announced the promotion of Rob Royea to the position of president of Ziosoft U.S., EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia Pacific (outside of Japan). Royea also will serve as the company's chief operating officer worldwide. Royea previously served as Ziosoft's vice president of sales and marketing. He will continue to lead both of these areas as well.

"The U.S. and Europe are two of the largest imaging markets in the world," said Kazu Matsumoto, founder and CEO of Ziosoft. "With the launch of our new Version 2.0 software, we believe our cutting edge supercomputing platform will provide significant and cost effective solutions for advanced visualization and functional analysis of medical images in these markets. Rob's extensive background in medical imaging technology makes him an ideal person to lead the company in addressing the needs of the U.S., EMEA and Asia Pacific."

Ziosoft's supercomputing technology is based on dynamic, instantaneous analysis of chaotic information in weather which has extremely similar data characteristics to the human body. Over the years, this technology evolved from a large room of host computer hardware to a centralized, CPU-based processing server allowing multiple concurrent users per server throughout the enterprise system. This has resulted in several significant advantages including non-compressed 3D and 4D images producing the highest integrity and accurate image quality, optimized user efficiency and maximum cost effectiveness for an extensive range of clinical applications. It also enables indications-driven workflow and supports reimbursement as well as HIPAA requirements.

"The power of Ziosoft's supercomputing architecture is evident in the superb images it produces," said Royea. "This state-of-the-art foundation harnesses the ongoing growth of computer processing power enabling such advanced solutions as PhyZiodynamics, the gateway to 5D functional analytics. I am excited to be a part of this medical revolution and its impact on the continuum of patient care."

Royea has extensive experience as a senior operational, sales and marketing executive with demonstrated success at creating and executing strategies necessary to grow sophisticated medical technology and software companies. Royea previously held executive positions with Eklin Medical Systems, AGFA Healthcare and Siemens Medical Solutions where he had P&L responsibility for more than $550 million in product line revenue. Prior to Siemens, he served in similar positions with Johnson&Johnson and Acuson, helping grow the latter into one of the world's leading ultrasound and ultrasound PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems) companies.

Ziosoft's supercomputing software architecture is economical and scalable, eliminating the need for costly, multiple proprietary or specialized GPU rendering boards. It integrates seamlessly with standard, off-the-shelf hardware and helps expand the life of existing expensive modalities such as CT and MR.
