Zynx Health Partners with EBSCO Publishing to Offer Expanded Evidence-Based Clinical Decision Support via DynaMed
| Company News - Zynx Health, Inc. |
Zynx Health announced a new partnership with EBSCO Publishing
Zynx Health, the leader in evidence-based healthcare, announced a new partnership with EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO), the leading provider of evidence-based clinical point-of-care resources for doctors, nurses, patients, and rehabilitation specialists. EBSCO is the provider of DynaMed, an evidence-based clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other healthcare professionals primarily for use at the point of care.
Per the agreement, the more than 3,000 evidence-based, clinically-organized summaries in DynaMed— which are updated daily and are based on a rigorous editorial process to ensure clinicians are accessing the best available evidence—will be embedded into Zynx evidence-based order sets for mutual customers. Zynx hospital clients use ZynxOrder™ to customize and maintain evidence-based order sets and bring evidence-based knowledge to clinical teams at the point of decision making. Zynx clinicians develop and update more than 700 customizable order sets according to a timely, rigorous analysis of peer-reviewed literature, performance measures, and regulatory guidelines.
“We know from our more than 1,700 hospital clients that improving the quality and safety of care requires a broad suite of clinical decision support offerings, including reference content, that can be accessed by clinicians from outside of the hospital for a reasonable price,” says Gregory Dorn, MD, MPH, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Zynx. “We have found that the DynaMed offering employs an extremely rigorous evidence-based methodology which is highly consistent with the Zynx approach.”
DynaMed monitors the content of more than 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases. Each publication is reviewed cover-to-cover, and each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate representing a synthesis of the best available evidence.
Brian Alper, MD, MSPH, medical director of EBSCO Publishing and the founder and editor-in-chief of DynaMed, says that having access to the latest medical information is a medical necessity. “DynaMed is updated daily and used to supply intuitive access to the best available evidence as clinical questions arise in practice. Combining order set creation, maintenance, and order set use at the point of care with the best available evidence-based clinical reference content allows for more consistent decision making and improved quality of care. DynaMed is used in thousands of hospitals worldwide and the Zynx partnership will further enable mutual customers to push the content to physicians where and when they need it most.”
