Nationally recognized HIT visionary to advance dbMotion’s expertise in connected healthcare

dbMotion announced the appointment of Kevin Hutchinson to the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Hutchinson is the president and CEO of Prematics, a leader in e-prescribing and care communication services.

“Mr. Hutchinson brings superior knowledge and first-hand experience with the complexities of health information exchange, which will further strengthen our leadership team, and provides greater support to dbMotion’s vision and product strategy,” says Benny Levin, chairman of the dbMotion Board of Directors. “We are extremely excited to welcome such a savvy healthcare IT leader.”

Prior to joining Prematics, Mr. Hutchinson was the founding president and CEO of Surescripts from 2002 to 2008, where he led the effort to build and deploy a national network for electronic prescribing and health information exchange. Under his leadership, the Surescripts business model grew from an industry concept to the largest, most successful electronic prescribing network in the country.

In 2009, Mr. Hutchinson was selected to serve on the newly established federal Health Information Technology Standards Committee, where he advised the national coordinator for health IT, David Blumenthal, MD. Mr. Hutchinson also currently serves on a number of national advisory boards, including Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences, the eHealth Initiative, Markle Foundation Connecting for Health, the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy, PharmMD and BridgeGate.
