The Imaging Center Goes Filmless with eRAD PACS
| Company News - eRAD, Inc. |
eRAD, an industry leader in workflow solutions through its native Web-based RIS/PACS and Diagnostic Imaging Information management Systems, announced that The Imaging Center in Florissant, Missouri is now operational with eRAD PACS along with a full compliment of digital imaging modalities.
The Imaging Center’s mission is to combine state-of-the-art technology with high-quality patient care in a convenient, personalized setting. The facility offers physicians the most complete range of digital imaging choices now available in the St. Louis metropolitan area, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Axial Tomography (CT),Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Computed Radiography and Digital Mammography. Deployment of eRAD PACS by
Merry-X-Ray Corporation of St. Louis at The Imaging Center has enabled the center to significantly improve access to patient images and diagnostic reports.
According to Dr. Elizabeth Huck, Radiologist, The Imaging Center: “As a result of greater control and workflow improvements provided by eRAD PACS, we now handle each patient’s needs more efficiently and thus deliver enhanced patient care. Digital image management has enabled secure access to information almost instantly. I was pleased at how easy it is to use the system. eRAD PACS was chosen after an analysis determined that it provided
premium technology, a secure internet website and optimal workflow enhancement features. This technology complements our high quality care and services.”
Jan Greiwe, Chief Operating Officer of The Imaging Center, said: “We found it absolutely necessary to improve the efficiency of our operations after the Deficit Reduction Act was implemented. The decision to convert our modalities to digital and install the eRAD PACS allowed us to eliminate film and processor expenses, reduce labor costs and enhance communication with our referring physicians. We were extremely pleased that the digital conversion and eRAD PACS installation went very smoothly, on schedule, and did not interrupt any patient services. The transition was much easier than we anticipated.”
“We are now able to offer a new level of responsiveness to our referring doctors. Patient images and reports are available to them online, at our secure internet website, usually within an hour of the exam. Our physicians find the online access very convenient, and the eRAD viewing software easy to use,” stated Alison Griffith, PACS Administrator.
