iCAD, Inc.announced its SecondLook® Digital CAD technology customized for use with Agfa HealthCare’s Computed Radiography Systems
iCAD, Inc. (Nasdaq: ICAD), an industry-leading provider of advanced image analysis and workflow solutions for the early identification of cancer, today announced that its SecondLook® Digital CAD technology customized for use with Agfa HealthCare’s Computed Radiography Systems is now available throughout Europe.
"iCAD for CR Mammography has simplified life and makes us more efficient", said Dr. Fenzl, M.D., Head of Radiology for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Bundes-Knappschaftkrankenhaus Püttlingen, Saarland in Germany. He continued, "In fact iCAD is a great aid where it comes to challenging mammography cases as it helps detecting difficult to spot cancers. At the beginning I was rather skeptical and kept a certain distance. However, after having used the iCAD system for a couple of weeks it has really added value. It increases confidence and it would be hard to go back to the days where iCAD was not used. Our radiologists are using it on a daily basis and it smoothly integrates in our digital workflow. "
iCAD has received CE mark approval to market and sell its customized solution with Agfa HealthCare’s Computed Radiography Systems and units have been placed at Bundes-Knappschaftkrankenhaus Püttlingen in Germany.
“The availability of our CAD technology with Agfa Healthcare’s solutions in Europe marks another milestone in our business strategy to increase the use of iCAD systems outside of the U.S.,” said Ken Ferry, President and CEO of iCAD. “Our new partnership underscores Agfa’s leadership in diagnostic image management solutions and our shared commitment to improving early detection of breast cancer in Europe.”
