iSOFT partner agreement concerning HIS is further deepened

iSOFT, leading vendor for healthcare IT systems, announces the deepening of the partnership with Evangelisches Krankenhaus Unna. This technological cooperation agreement is a further cornerstone to guarantee the future usability of the running hospital information system ClinicCentre from iSOFT. The high rate of user satisfaction as well as reliable support services are further important reasons for the enhanced agreement. Additionally the implementation of the medical portal solution iSOFT Collaboration Suite (iCS) has been agreed on. The integration of this portal solution opens up new possibilities for the hospital to strengthen relationships with GPs and therefore generate a higher rate of utilization of its own resources.

"This agreement gives us the guarantee, that our HIS is always up-to-date“, says Peter Goerdeler, Administration Manager of the hospital in Unna. "A safe investment combined with non-stop access to technology - this makes for an easy decision.”

The agreement contains the general availability of all new developments concerning the already implemented modules of ClinicCentre. This guarantees that the hospital in Unna has continuous access to state-of-the-art hospital information technology.

Additionally to the expansion of the technological partnership it has been agreed on to integrate the new GP-portal iCS in to the system. This solution will serve as a means of better communication between the hospital and GPs.

Portal technology secures economic survival of hospitals

With iCS doctors can now easily access patient information from their practice IT systems. With additional modules hospitals can offer more services to their GPs. This generates a significant added value for the own efficiency of recourses as well as the partners. The hospital in Unna and regional doctors both profit from the integration of this solution. In this way the planning of checkups, the booking of accommodations as well as the access to patient data becomes more easy and efficient.

"As a medical service provider it is becoming more and more important for us to keep contact with our regional GPs“, comments Goerdeler. "We are competing with many other hospitals. So it is paramount, that we can offer our partners easy tools with which they can better organize the treatment of their patients and upgrade the communication with us. With offering such tools we will be able to guarantee the best possible treatment of our patients and a positive economic development.”

The direct connection to the hospital information system allows for the use and updating of current electronic patient records as well as importing new data into local patient files. In this way all necessary information is available at any time. This makes a prompt treatment and an adaption of therapies easier. Also iCS takes in to account a high rate of data security. Role-based SecurityCards and modern security solutions provided by Microsoft protect the data transfer between doctor and hospital. In this way data security can be guaranteed at all times.

About Evangelisches Krankenhaus Unna

Approximately 700 employees - including over 70 doctors and 350 nurses - are currently responsible for the patients of the Evangelische Krankenhaus Unna. Over 11.000 people are treated as inpatients every year in this hospital. They are offered a wide range of services which are made available for inpatient and outpatient patients. These services range from offers provided by the emergency room, central pharmacy or other divisions within the hospital and are available on a 24/7 basis.
