iSOFT Wins A$2.2 Million Contracts In Germany

Company News - iSOFT

iSOFT announced three new contracts in Germany totalling EUR1.34 million (A$2.2 million), including Lorenzo Portal and the first order for the company's new PACS

iSOFT Group Limited Australia's largest listed health information technology company announced three new contracts in Germany totalling EUR1.34 million (A$2.2 million), including iSOFT's Lorenzo Portal and the first order for the company's new picture archiving and communications system ( PACS ). All three contracts were finalised in November.

Franciscans of the Holy Cross agreed to a EUR1 million contract for a hospital information system (HIS) at its St Marienworth Hospital at Bad Kreuznach in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The investment is part of an overhaul of its IT infrastructure to underpin expansion plans and drive demand for its healthcare services. The contract includes EUR400,000 for licenses, EUR300,000 for services and EUR300,000 for support and maintenance for five years.

The deal includes iSOFT Portal, part of the Lorenzo Collaboration Suite, for GPs to refer patients and access patient records online. It also includes iSOFT's ClinicCentre HIS , its radiology information system, and iSOFT BusinessCentre for enterprise resource planning.

Meanwhile, Diagnostische Zentrum am Vincentinum agreed on an iSOFT PACS for its specialist diagnostic centre at Augsburg, in a deal worth EUR130,000. Significantly, this is iSOFT's first sale of the solution and the first time it is providing an application as a service. Partner company Ambicotec is hosting the application at its data centre at Frankfurt and will provide access on demand. The contract is worth EUR70,000 in license and implementation fees and EUR60,000 for services over five years.

"There is a growing trend in Germany and Europe generally for 'application services' that allow customers a high degree of flexibility at lower cost," said Peter Herrmann, Managing Director of iSOFT Central Europe. "It avoids the need for major investments in server technology and is a very attractive, cost-effective option for radiology centres of all sizes."

Muenster-based hospital group Misericordia has signed a EUR214,000 deal for iSOFT Laboratory to integrate services at its two laboratories at Muenster and one at Meschede. There is also an option to add another laboratory at Muenster.

The contract includes EUR130,000 for licenses and implementation services and EUR84,000 for support and maintenance over five years.
