Bartron Medical Imaging, Inc., a Maryland corporation (the “Company” or “BMI”), is a biotechnology medical device manufacturer with software development, manufacturing and R&D facilities in New Haven, CT. BMI was founded in 2000 by Mr. Fitz G. Walker, Jr. using a technology licensed from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

The Hierarchical Segmentation Technology (HSEG) developed by Goddard’s Dr. James C. Tilton, and developments with Recursive Segmentation (RHSEG) using a new concept – the High Performance Computer (HPC) Cluster are the first of its type. NASA was applying this technology toward analysis of land-based images (terrestrial and planetary). Mr. Walker saw the potential of this technology to possibly be an enormous leap forward in digital medical imaging. This potential is realized in the Bartron Medical Imaging MED-SEG™ BMTS1000 System (MED-SEG™) which received FDA clearance in July 2010. Clearance allows BMI to market the MED-SEG™.

BMI’s flagship product, MED-SEG™, incorporates algorithms originally developed by NASA Goddard Space Agency. This algorithm, RHSEG (Recursive Hierarchical Segmentation) with Artifact Elimination allows regions of interest to be recognized with a clarity and specificity unequaled in the marketplace. From early studies, we believe that in the future, MED-SEG™ technology will identify abnormalities before identifications done via the original images alone. MED-SEG™ shows promise even in drug development, where it can discern cell apoptosis before any other methodology. Finally, we expect that our product will play an important role in medical applications and contribute to reducing health-related costs.
