About Beekley Mammography Skin Marking System
The Beekley Skin Marking System offers radiologists a simple and effective way to identify nipples, raised moles, surgical scars, palpable masses and areas of concern or focal pain. As a result, interpreting mammograms is faster and more accurate. The system consists of five different Beekley Spots®, each with a distinctive and unmistakable shape to interpret on an image. A circle appearing on the image could only mean one thing – a raised mole. A line indicates an area of previous surgery, the triangle symbolizes a palpable mass, a solid dot is used to mark a nipple and the newest shape, Altus™ is a square used to mark an area of concern or focal pain.
Breast Imaging Centers using the Beekley Skin Marking System for both digital and analog mammograms report better communication, fewer questions, fewer additional views and improved permanent documentation. All skin markers in the Beekley Skin Marking System are made with medical grade adhesives for a “just right” stick, making them the preferred choice of breast imaging professionals. All markers are lead free, latex free and hypoallergenic.
