About Cardiac CTA Level II Certification
This course consolidates what is typically a four day live course into an efficient and convenient educational experience while meeting all SCCT Guidelines. This program provides the opportunity to train virtually for 85% of the content needed to gain Level 2 Certification in Cardiac CTA, in turn promoting greater retention. The single live day in Cincinnati allows for interaction and an exchange of best practices with industry leading physicians Dr. Robert Pelberg and Dr. Wojciech Mazur of Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.
After signing up the participant will receive a copy of our Cardiac CT Angiography Manual and access to our online lecture series. It is strongly recommended to review these materials prior to the single live day in Cincinnatti, OH where Dr. Robert Pelberg and Dr. Wojciech Mazur will provide 25 live cases for review. An additional 25 live recorded cases will be provided online as well as 100 mentored cases with scheduled support from Dr. Pelberg and Dr. Mazur.
Educational Goals and Objectives:
- Maintain competence in the interpretation of cardiac CT Angiograms.
- Maintain qualifications to remain credentialed as a level II reader of cardiac CT angiograms.
- Comprehensive review of CT scanner technology, scan planning, acquisition, image formation, reconstruction, and viewing formats for the reader and or technologist of cardiac CT.
- A complete overview of calcium scoring as well as the data to support it.
- Factors influencing radiation production and radiation safety as it relates to cardiac CT. Application of radiation sparing techniques.
- Appropriate criteria surrounding the patient selection process for cardiac CT and the importance of adequate patient preparation and selection for cardiac CT.
- Disease prevalence VS Predictive value and analyzing diagnostic accuracy of Cardiac CTA and the data that support its use.
- Improve accuracy in reading cardiac CT, identify the artifacts and pitfalls in image interpretation.
- Successfully identify and evaluate coronary anatomy, coronary anomalies and stent and bypass graft interpretation using cardiac CT.
- Identify important noncoronary cardiac findings assessed by cardiac CTA.
- Identify noncardiac findings that may be seen on cardiac CTA.
- Assess abilities with a mini CBCCT mock exam complete with static images and movies in similar format to that which is seen on the CBCCT exam itself.
