ETIAM was founded in 1996 in Rennes, France, It has positioned itself in the field of medical multimedia connectivity. Since 1983, the Rennes University Hospital has experimented with one of the worlds first PACS, even before the existence of PCs and the standardization of IP communication. In 1989, the Signauxet Images en Medecine laboratory, directed by Prof. Jean-Marie Scarabin, neurosurgeon, launched a project to create an innovative prototype in digital medical imagery. A team of experienced engineers was formed to manage complex collaborative projects between hospitals, researchers and industry.
