Firsthand Experience with a Siemens e.cam eco: Parkview Whitley Hospital’s ™ affordable refurbished camera expands nuclear medicine capabilities
In 2007 and 2008, Parkview Whitley Hospital found itself making significant capital expenditures in high-volume patient imaging equipment such as CT and ultrasound. However, it also needed to upgrade its nuclear imaging capabilities, but was limited on funds. At that time, Parkview Whitley’s ™ nuclear medicine department was using a 10-year-old, single-head camera inherited from the hospital’s ™ main campus, which was capable of only basic studies.
A Siemens e.cam ® eco is now serving the hospital economically by fulfilling its need for updated nuclear medicine technology in a department that had experienced lower patient volume than other imaging modalities. The result is a transformation that is visible to both the staff and the patients
