The image generation (IG) computer provides the engine for the image reconstruction process on a CT system. The purpose of the IG computer is to reconstruct the images scanned into the system and provide detailed information to the tech and those involved in the medical process. 2362872 denotes an image generation computer from the GOC4 console on a Lightspeed CT system. There are a multitude of different configurations for IG computers manufactured by General Electric. In conjunction with the DARC computer, the Scan Data Disk Array and the HP computer, the GOC4 console is the technicians tool for providing detailed information on the CT process.
