About MRopen
Mropen is the first magnetic resonance tomograph to use a high temperature, Open-sky Superconductive magnet. This technology improves accuracy and the unique design alows for great flexibility of use. The cable is made from MgB2 (Magnesium Diboride), an alloy with superconductive characteristics at temperatures that can be reached with a traditional cooling system (cryo-cooler), with no need for liquid helium or other such cryogenic gasses. The Mropen’S superconductive system is as simple as a permanent magnet. Its unique U-Shaped design eliminates any claustrophobic reaction, as the patient is lying without any obstacle between his eyes and the open air. The open structure, along with the large room available inside, allows for an unprecedented freedom in terms of patient positioning.
