Mercury is a DICOM archive which indexes exactly the information that the user want. It can work out of the box as a temporary archive, store and forward cache, or small departmental archive.  Its configurable database indexes and retrieves the DICOM tags and workflow fields specified by the user.  Mercury can also become an instant archive for any persistent datasets the user have or receive - just specify their location, and instruct Mercury to import all of the DICOM datasets it finds at that location.  Mercury's configurability extends to the DBMS, persistent storage, and the administrative interfaces allowing to leverage the existing user infrastructure.
