The PercuNav software converts the electromagnetic signals from tiny sensors in the instruments into a live (real-time) map. It displays the location and orientation of tracked instruments superimposed on patient images throughout the intervention. The software displays graphical icons representing instruments superimposed on the images. Because the instruments are dynamically tracked, the location is updated in real time, effectively creating a GPS system for medical instruments.
