Product information

Preoperative planning is recognized as an essential step in elective surgery and as an important component in trauma surgery.

Many Surgeons are still conducting fracture treatment planning, joint replacement and deformity correction procedures on the basis of two-dimensional (2-D) conventional X-ray images with the tracing procedure.

TraumaCad by Orthocrat was designed by Surgeons to provide a better way to conduct procedure planning.

Traumacad allows surgeons to develop a pre-operative surgery plan via clinical manipulation of digital orthopedic images utilizing the best in image processing techniques, including the application of digitally rendered and accurately sized fixation systems or prosthetic systems.

The application also includes a set of tools to visualize the reduction of fractures, to determine the axis of deformity, to simulate osteotomy procedures, and much more.

This software allows greater accuracy and simplicity, when compared to traditional analog templating techniques and other digital solutions commonly used today.

Joint Replacement

Traumacad's optimization of joint replacement procedures is ideal for complex reconstructions and osteotomies as well as for standard primary replacements. Surgeons evaluate the post-operative anatomical alignment of various surgical scenarios (cutting, displacing, implanting) to create an optimal surgical plan. Incorporated into the patient file, Traumacad offers an easily accessible database of implants, including template libraries for total ankle, total knee, total hip, and total shoulder replacement.

Trauma Planning

Designed to meet the needs of the trauma environment, Traumacad can define fracture fragments, move, rotate and copy fragments on DICOM images and between images to reconstruct and accurately restore the anatomy on multi-view images prior to templating.

Pediatric & Deformity Planning

Traumacad helps pediatric orthopedic surgeons to take anatomical measurements, compare them to normative standards and simulate corrective procedures. Easy-to-use wizards help surgeons produce a wide range of anatomical measurements (growth multiplier, acetabular index, mal-alignment, spinal deformity, etc.). All measurements and evaluations are integrated into patient files, for an easy transition to digital radiology.

A complete pre-operative digital workflow solution

Import & calibrate

Supporting DICOM, TraumaCad by Orthocrat enables import and export of any PACS file (X-ray, CT, MR) from local workstation or central PACS system, as well as JPG or scanner files. Traumacad's Zero-Click calibration tool provides instant calibration of the PACS images to facilitate accurate templating.

Apply templates

By automatically providing calibrated on-screen implant images, Traumacad expedites the implant evaluation and selection process. Several scenarios can be recorded and compared, to find the optimal implant. Once a template is chosen, it can be easily scaled and manipulated.

Save & Archive

Once the planning of a procedure is completed, a full report is saved and sent to the patient's PACS file, ensuring convenient access.

Universal PACS integration

Integrated easily and fully into all PACS systems, Traumacad can be deployed overnight in any clinic or hospital:

Web based.

Easy to use.

Clinically proven

Fits into any PAC environment

Comprehensive automatically updating template library.

Supporting the DICOM standard, Traumacad enables import and export of any PACS file (X-ray, CT, MR) from the local workstation or central PACS system. JPG, scanned images and digital camera images can also be imported via DICOM Query & Retrieve protocol.

Three levels of integration are supported:

Standard DICOM integration – Easy DICOM Query & Retrieve to all existing PACS systems, with the procedure plan and images saved back to the patient folder.

Push-Button Launch – A button is added to the PACS viewer application that launches Traumacad with the relevant image. Integrated with GE & other PACS systems.

Extended integration - Drag'n'drop images from the PACS system to the Traumacad. Procedure plan and images are automatically saved back to the PACS and the patient folder is kept up-to-date. This type of integration currently exists with Fuji Synapse and Dynamic Imaging PACS.

Licensing

Purchasing options

Purchase online today, or contact our sales team at sales@medicexchange.com for off-line purchasing options.

Monolithic licenses

Single Name User - US$8,200 Recommended Configuration for Orthopedic Clinic customers with between 1-2 Orthopedic Surgeons with a fixed workflow. Monolithic licensing while affordable is tied to a single computer, no proxy server, with no geographic flexibility via web-access.

Two Named Users + Proxy - POA

Recommended configuration for Clinic customers with two user scenarios in which geographic flexibility is valued. Named User licensing + Proxy allows for a web-based accessibility and flexibility, while maintaining licensed access to the application is tied to a single named user validated at log-on.

Three Named User + Proxy - POA

This is the recommended configuration for Clinic customers with triple prospective user scenarios in which geographic flexibility is valued.

Concurrent licenses

Single Concurrent User + Proxy - POARecommended configuration for HOSPITAL customers with between 2 to 4 Orthopedic Surgeons. Concurrent licensing + proxy allows for a web-based accessibility and flexibility, concurrent user licensing controls for concurrent usage of the application, not user name, therefore allowing broader access per license.

Two Concurrent Users + Proxy - POA

This is the recommended configuration for Hospital customers of practices between 5 to 10 Orthopedic Surgeons.

Three Concurrent Users + Proxy - POA

This is the recommended configuration for Hospital Customers of practices between 11 and 20 Orthopedic Surgeons.

Additional Concurrent Users - POA

Subscription & Support

An annual 20% Subscription & Support is payable, giving a service level agreement that ensures the end-user customer receives

Support for any problems encountered.

Upgrades to future releases of Traumacad.

Subscription to updating of Implant Template Library as manufacturers produce new templates or discontinue old ones.

Traumacad is installed and runs locally on your computer and interacts with a PACS system. Both a standalone and a client/server version of TraumaCad by Orthocrat are available.

The standalone version runs on a specific computer only and stores all its files, such as its configuration and implant templates, on that specific computer.

The client/server version is comprised of a server application that is setup by the administrator, as described in the Traumacad Server Control Panel Guide, and client applications that run on specific computers.

Hardware requirements

512 MB of Ram.

Processor: P4 1.8 GHZ or higher.

Minimal Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768.

40MB free hard disk space and additional disk space for templates.

Software requirements

MS Windows 2000 or later.

MS .Net Framework version 1.1 or higher (this will be installed or upgraded during setup).

Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.

Clinical requirements

In order to perform accurate templating, the image should be calibrated. Image requirements may differ according to the image software:

Uncalibrated images

A metal calibration sphere with a known diameter (typically 1 inch) must be placed at the bone level prior to taking the image.

DICOM images with a preset calibration attribute acquired from the modality:

There is no need to use a physical market.
